The rosary is not just a series of recited prayers. It is also an opportunity to contemplate salvation history by meditating on the mysteries of Christ’s life, death and resurrection which brings us closer to Him and His Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. There are four sets of five mysteries that are prayed on specific days of the week follows:
- The Joyful Mysteries on Mondays and Saturdays
- The Sorrowful Mysteries on Tuesdays and Fridays
- The Glorious Mysteries on Wednesdays and Sundays
- The Luminous Mysteries on Thursday.
